Outlaws 2-0

This past Saturday the Ventura County Outlaws traveled away to play the Las Vegas Maoris. ANOTHER team made up of tough and BIG islanders. Although we were outsized by the other team at almost every position we were able to exploit their inexperience with our discipline and determination. The Maoris team held strong for about the first 10 minutes until our forwards were able to draw in their defense and Koto swung the ball out across half the field to Cox who scored in the corner for the first try of the game! After we scored that first try it was all downhill from there with an avalanche of tries by Bays, Marcus, Koto, Hector, and Ruben. The Maoris played a hard game and made some big hits but our superior training allowed us to almost practically score at will against them. Unfortunately, while we were on pace for a 60-0 game, Jeffrey Cadwell was injured by one of the Maoris and both teams decided to call the game with 30 minutes left.

Jeff’s spirits were high as he has kept a positive attitude towards the whole situation. He is now back in California with his family, we wish him and Shawn a speedy recovery from their injuries.

The Maori’s were great hosts and we had a blast at the social with them. We look forward to playing them at home in the near future.
